the end of the summer

It has been a long time since I last posted something new. Well the truth is - i didn't have time. The summer season was so busy. Guest coming, guest going. There were really friendly ones with whom i hanged out and some angry ones and then i had to do my best to make their stay as nice as possible. Well maybe about my summer adventures with guest i will tell you in one of the cold and stormy winter evenings. But right know i just want you to remind that in Latvia autumn is also very beautiful. And if your aim is to visit the Old Town then all the season are good for that.
Here I am in front of the Black Heads building. The Blackhead's House was first mentioned in 1334. The building was owned by the Great Guild that sprang up not later than in the 14th century. The Guild consisted of the privileged groups of merchants and landholders in the Baltics and had a great influence on the town council work.
Now it is renovated and every one can visit it. Even You!
So come and do it!

Ventspils and the small things

Ohhh, what a great day. First of all the weather forecast guy was completely wrong (i have to start to think that they tell the wrong forecast for a reason) - there was no rain, actually there weren't even clouds. The sun was shining very brightly and i decided - a great day to get out of Riga and enjoy the wounderful nature.
Anyway, my Boss somehow (i guess with mind-reading) "heard" my wishes and he gave me an important job to do: i was given a car and told to drive to Ventspils - a beautiful city on the sea side.
But everything by row.
I was sooo excited - a car, me, all by myself, perfect day. Well i should say that this was my first time driving and first time on Latvian roads, but the lady from the panel (i was told it's called GPS) helped me a lot, and i was driving very well, singing and ejoying the view.
When i reached Ventspils i was even more happier. Ventspils is very beautiful city. It is called the city with tomorrow. It has excellent sea side (the Ventspils beach has blue flag, which means that the beach is excellent), interesting old town and great possibilities to relax in aqua parks, city parks or just have a ride with a bot in river Venta. I enjoyed the city very much and also i did some really good job - i found really great apartments ( have a look http://bookapartment.eu/apartments/Ventspils/en/). By the end of my day i wasn't only happy that i did a great job, but also i stopped at one small waterfall (ahhh, the bautiness of Kurzeme - this is one of four regions in Latvia, that's an interesting story too, but about that some other time). And i sat there and relaxed - water is very calming. Even now when i close my eyes i see and hear the waterfall.
Maybe that wasn't a big waterfall (maybe others wouldn't call it waterfall at all), but that's how things in Latvia works - they are small, but very special (as i, hihi).

Loved the driving, Ventspils and the waterfall.
Hopfully i will be assigned to other cities too.

me, myself and i

So hello!

I am kind a new to this whole blogger thing, but hopefully i will understand how to do it and do it well. So my name is Booky i was found in one of the many apartments which can be found on website www.bookapartment.eu. I don't like to talk about in which and why, because it hurts a bit, but the main idea is - i was left (i prefer - forgotten) by my previos owner - a little girl named Sally in an apartment. Sally and her family are from Great Britan they were visiting Latvia for a week and i enjoyed this week very much. Actually for a moment i hoped that i could stay in Latvia longer and my dream came tru (be careful what you wish for)...
So i was found by a maid, she kindly brought me to the office of BookApartment and the Boss looked at me and said: "Well, you look ok. Do you need a work?" And surely i did - no money, no cosy bed, no honey, no nothing, so i agreed. From that moment i am working in BookApartment - i'm like marketing manager (that's how i like to call it). Well my job is to inform people about the wounderful booking site and also to introduce everybody with the beutiness of Latvia (maybe other contrys too). So hopfully - everything will be ok and from this day on you will be able to read about my work, my holidays, my adventures, my journeys. So till tomorrow - see ya!

Oh, and this is me - Booky (don't i look gorgeous?)
